One of the world’s illustrious and frequently visited tourist destinations is Egypt. Bounded by the Red sea and Mediterranean and dominated by fertile Nile River and its valley and western and eastern deserts geographically, Egypt consorts with oldest and modern civilizations of the world. People know Egypt has having ancient Egyptian civilization treasured in its hieroglyphs, pyramids, temples and mummies.

The climate of this country is dominated by the climate of African countries and it lies in north-east Africa with largest city Cairo as capital. It has a very hot and dry climate. Two particular seasons observed around the year in country are very hot summers and very mild winters (not much cold). The reason for ancient Egyptians old houses with no windows as a glass is probably the hot temperatures ranging up to 95 F so that air could flow into houses. The most fondling tourist destination in Egypt is notorious pyramids of Giza near Cairo.

Taxi and bus service is available from Cairo to take tourists to these amazing pyramids. The ancient Egyptians built three towering structures for their kings and queens. There is a colossal carved stone of a lion with human head known as Sphinx which rests near those pyramids. It represents Egyptian ancient god, Re-Horakhty, the sun god, carved by a huge sandstone block.

Cairo city is visited every year by thousands of travelers around the world and it has more than sixteen million inhabitants. The Khan Al Khalili famous bazaar and the Citadel are notable tourist places. Other renowned places include mosque of Idn Tulin, Al-Azhar mosque and oldest university of the world. Cognizant cruise experience on the Nile also serves tourists to know more about ancient Egypt and its traditions. Nile is considered as oldest and fertile root of the food supply and transportation. The Siwa Oasis is located at edge of famous Great Sand Sea and since older times, it is the obsession of travelers and warriors from all over the world. Alexander the great paid a visit to Siwa Oasis in 331 B.C. to consult the Amun. It is known from pages of history that entire army of king of Persia was lost in the deserts that came to destroy this oracle. The second largest temple in the Egypt is temple of hours which is located at Edfu. Tourists are exhilarated of this wonder piece of ancient civilization by its towering pylon and columns which are still in excellent condition. There is another worth-watching site where 62 ancient pharaohs are buried is valley of kings. The famous pharaohs including Ramses I, Amenhetep and Tutankhamen are buried there.

The many flavors of Eastern dishes are present in Egyptian cuisine which ranges from traditional to international. The western food is bit expensive but you would love enjoying cheap native food that includes pita type bread, beans and Egyptian vegetables. Molokihyya is one of the most famous Egyptian summer vegetable which is used to make delicious thick soup. Egypt is a land of wonders.
